I'm not in the least bit surprised that they're capitalizing on the riceboy fad and movies like 2 Fast 2 Furious by making video games targetted to that audience. NFS is an EA product, and as such, its only purpose is to make them lots of money in whatever way possible. So if you're basing your thoughts on the Playstation versions, yeah, your perspective might be a bit different. Try to see this from a PC racer perspective:Īnd for that matter, NFS:PU on PSOne = Crap. I didn't really care for NFS:PU on PSone.

I thought NFS:HP2 for PS2 was the best in the series. All the polishing in the world wont make that turd half the game street rod 2 is. Any retard can test drive a supra or some pile of crap civic. NFS is supposed to be about driving cars you can't drive in real life. The cars are lame, and if they even pretend to have a physics engine in there every one of those pieces of shit will be slower than stock trim, just like every faggot ricer crap car. Maybe if we're lucky they'll have simulated the bumblebee lawnmower of death sound that ricers produce. I don't have to get shot in the face to know I'd not enjoy it. You can choose not to buy the game because none of the cars have a v12 or the Stallion badge on the hood, but to claim that it's going to be a bad game _merely_ because it has a Supra instead of an f355 is _bullshit_. You can choose not to buy the game because none of the cars have a v12 or the Stallion badge on the hood, but to claim that it's going to be a bad game merely because it has a Supra instead of an f355 is bullshit. You don't like the cars so you think the game will be bad. The bad thing about some ricers, again, is their devotion to form over function in other words, the exact same thing you're guilty of here. Just like a case mod, though, it's possible to enhance the look and the performance and I think it's pretty safe to assume that none of the cars in the game have simulated clipped springs, 100 pounds of bondo, and curb feelers.

The thing that's irritating about some of the rice scene is that people will do shitty mods to the outside of their car, fucking up the performance and the appearance. Christ, the most-seen car in those screenies is a Supra and if you think Supras are slow you need to check up on your facts. That a fact? Then how come the gold standard, the original NFS wasn't on a track at all but on point-A-to-point-B stretches of road, with traffic? What were the vette and the RX-7 and others doing in there? I'm sorry dude, but NFS is about arcade road racing doing things you want to do on civillian streets in real life, but can't for obvious reasons. Having rice rockets in NFS is akin to fitting out The Nameless One in Planescape Torment with a banana suit, it ain't right.

You're wrong, the NFS series is about driving obscenely expensive European supercars at 200km/h along a sunny countryside track.
They don't make VR or Daytona anymore, afterall. I guess Burnout 1/2 was okay, though (despite the crappy cars). There really isn't any other racing series worth playing on console/PC other than NFS or RR for console only nowadays. In other words, looking forward to Underground because it is a NFS game. I'm not really into import/modifying car scene but I do like the NFS series (especially for PC ) since Hot Pursuit 1. in this game, people actually _come out of their houses and scream at you_ when you cruise through their neighborhood with your whistle exhaust and stereo blasting.Īs for Hot Pursuit 2 on the PC, it gets better the better your system is to run it. you can even customize the police helicopters! Just think what a big wing and bottom skirts would do to the aerodynamics. The customizing part looks cool too - I can't afford a big metal wing for my Civic in real life, but now I can get one, and those blue headlights, and even a cool paint job! I can't wait. How cool is that?! Hunting down baddies in police-modified Neons looks way cool too. mostly because of the "Be the Helicopter" mode, where _you_ get to drop the flaming barrels on computer-controlled cars.
